Day at the Farm

The other day, I went to a farm with one of the sweet girls in our youth group at church, to help her feed horses. I'm not much of a country girl (I mean, I have a pair of cowboy boots, but you know) but I had such an awesome time! My favorite part of the day was getting to see Sammy, this adorable donkey...

Then there was Aflac, the duck...

And Sophie, the baby horse who is not yet a year old. :)

I even got to hold a baby donkey...and boy was she heavy! Haha.

I think these donkeys thought I had food...hehe.

Sammy was so sweet...he literally followed me around like a dog. Kinda weird. :)

Oh and then there was a pig, who was mean as fire when she was hungry! Haha.

Needless to say, I had an absolute blast and will definitely be going back there again. :)

7. A funny thing happened the other day... well, it's not funny really, but pretty awesome. I'll just say this, God doesn't always answer prayers in the way you hope for Him to, but regardless of the way He does answer them, He gives you a peace about everything .

1. My go to outfit for a dress-up occasion like a wedding is a black dress. It's the perfect dress for just about anything .

2. This week has been busy, but fun. I had a busy week at work, but finished the week off with a Six Flags trip with our church youth group .

3. When it's dinnertime and I'm feeling lazy I'll usually eat a salad .

4. My favorite pair of shoes is my strappy gold-ish sandals. I wear them with everything .

5. A random item that I own that is completely unnecessary, but that I could never part with is my glasses with no prescription in them. I got them a couple years ago, so I could "look cool" wearing glasses, and I just can't bring myself to throw them out for some reason .

6. My favorite person is my husband of course. And also my parents, and my friends .

7. If I were going to write my own blank it would say oh my goodness I have no idea! Haha .

Our Beach Vacay

As you might have read in my previous post, Ian and I just recently got back from the beach on Monday, and boy was it a much need vacation! I can't believe that it had been, err, at least 6 years since I had been to Panama City Beach or Destin, FL. It was nice to finally get some R&R.
Panama City was our first stop...and we stayed at the most adorable little two story condo, owned by a friend's mother. It was like a cute little duplex that we had all to ourselves! It had the most adorable little details all throughout...and I loved the pops of color!

There's no better feeling than knowing that you don't have to go to work, but instead, you get to sleep in, then go lay on the beach for as long as you'd like. (that is, until you get burnt, ha)

Did I mention that I love palm trees? :)

We also saw some crazy weird jelly fish washed up on the beach. Does anyone know that this thing is? So creepy looking.

Fun fact #1: Ian cannot go to the beach without eating Taco Bell for lunch at least one day. :)

Fun Fact #2: We also cannot go to the beach without getting Dippin' Dots.

We had some of the most amazing meals while we were in Florida...and spent way too much money on food also...haha.

Captain Anderson's was one of the yummiest places that we ate while we were still in Panama City. You can even watch the boats coming in as you eat. :)

While we were in Panama City, we also stopped to watch this thing...called "the Slingshot" which I actually did in high school...and it was SO much fun. No, I didn't do it this time haha.

Like I mentioned before, I hadn't been to Panama City Beach in like 6 years until last week, so I had no idea about Pier Park. Pier Park was a huge shopping center full of neat shops and restaurants...and what was super cool about it, is that there was a carnival there!

So after our two days in Panama City, we drove over to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, FL and stayed in an AWESOME hotel/suite there for the rest of the time.

They had the most awesome pool that overlooked the intercostal...

Talk about Heaven...mmm. :)
We also found a place in Destin called the "Harborwalk Village" that was full of shops and restaurants, and it was right on the water. It kind of reminded us of River Street in Savannah, GA, but more fun since it was on the beach. :)

On Sunday morning, Ian lead worship at a church in Ft. Walton Beach called Beachside. It was awesome! We met some really cool people, who I know that if we lived closer would be really good friends. Oh, and did I mention they were hilarious? :)

So, as you can tell, we had a great time just being able to get away for a few days...and not have to worry about anything but laying on the beach and eating good food. (the hard life huh?) That being said, we are happy to be back at home!

Lucky for me, I just got home from the beach on Monday...so I have plenty of pictures. :)
One of my most favorite things about the beach are the palm trees. I mean, seriously, what is the beach without the palm trees, huh? :)

Also, I love the seagulls. I love that they come so close to you...except for when they want nothing but food if you have it. Haha.

One thing that I don't like too much about the beach, is the heat. I hate being hot. But I don't mind getting a little sweaty if it means I get to go to the beach. :)

Vacation!

When I think of sunshine, plenty of things come to mind...but my favorite, is that Ian calls me his sunshine. He has been calling me his sunshine since very early in our relationship...and he sings the song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." all the time! He is so sweet. I have found several different prints on Pinterest displaying the cute little song, but I can't decide on just one!

3 Year Anniversary!

Yesterday was mine and Ian's three year anniversary! How crazy is that? It is so amazing to me how fast time goes by. "So what did we do for our anniversary?" you might ask. After I got off work, I went home to change, and found this lovely little setup...

How cute is that? Haha. He's pretty creative right? (eeek...Brooke, we need to get that frame back to you, ha) Anyway, I got ready, then we went to Olive Garden for dinner, which was super yummy. When we got home, we did absolutely nothing but chill, since we don't get to do that very often.

Oh, and the pups chilled too. :)

Right after we got in bed, I found an anniversary card under my pillow (which caught me off guard), and I do believe it was the sweetest card he's ever gotten/written in for me.
We had an amazing anniversary, and I can't wait to see what the next few years has for us!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to post about our trip! Grr. Anyway...so...as you saw in one of my previous posts, Ian and I just got back a couple Sundays ago from a 4 1/2 day vacation in Savannah, GA. July 12th next month will mark 3 years of marriage for us (eek!) and since our first year of marriage, this was, err...the first vacation we had taken, just the two of us! I am so glad we were able to get outta town for a few days...and boy do I have plenty of pictures to show you! Here it goes!

When we were deciding where we would stay on our vacation, we wanted to find a place cute and cozy, not far from downtown Savannah, but also cheap enough to not break us. ::haha:: While looking online, I came across this cute little motel called the Thunderbird Inn, aka "the hippest hotel in Savannah." It wasn't very expensive so we booked right away. I just couldn't resist the quirky "retro-ness", and the bright colors of this little place. :)

They even put cute little retro bottles of shampoo and body wash in the room...

Ian and I absolutely LOVE Savannah. It is one of the most beautiful towns I've ever been to...and I already want to go back. :)

After we were settled in, we headed down to River Street to eat dinner. We ate at a restaurant that overlooked the river, called Fiddler's. We got some oysters as an appetizer, which I normally wouldn't eat, but for some reason I actually loved them on this trip. The rest of the food was delish too!

The next day, we headed down to City Market to grab some brunch. We found a restaurant called Belford's...which we came to learn was AMAZING.

We sat outside on the patio, which was quite cozy...and we people watched as we ate which was lots of fun. ;)
Here was our view as we ate...

We started off with a lobster bisque which was to DIE for. Yum.

The menu was so big...of course, with my indecisive self, I couldn't decide on anything...but after about 15 minutes I finally decided on the chicken salad plate, and Ian got the boston butt sandwich. Both were amazing.

Gone. :)
After eating, we walked over to a candy store (my favorite) and I couldn't believe I was actually able to walk out without buying anything. Oh but don't worry, I got some before the weekend was over!

The pecan pralines were to DIE for!

Smarties, and Starbursts, and Reeses...oh my!
A couple days later, we drove about 20 minutes from Savannah to Tybee Island, where we went to the beach! It was HOT, but it was nice be at the beach regardless. :)

Later in the week, we spent some time just walking around downtown Savannah...and found a place called "the Cupcake Emporium." My eyes got big, and Ian knew we had to go in there! Cupcakes are my WEAKNESS!

I got a rainbow cupcake with buttercream icing and sprinkles...and Ian got a key lime cupcake was pretty awesome too. :)

We had such a blast being able to get away for a few days, and hope to go back soon!

3. Surprises are fun if you have no idea about them and they take you by surprise...but if you find out something is up, they are no fun because it then drives you crazy .

5. My favorite warm drink is A vanilla soy latte at Starbucks .

7. Currently loving __the whole mustache trend. I don't know why, but I think they are absolutely ADORABLE .

When I think about the word green, I think about a lot of things...

But today, I am thinking about this absolutely adorable sparrow salad bowl and servers set found on Pinterest the other day. I am obsessed with birds, and have lots of bird decor in our home. I just love the sweet little green birds on the salad servers!

This past week/weekend, Ian and I went to Savannah, for a not-long-enough vacation...and had a blast together. Eeek! 2. Something I often rant about is how customers are already at work when you pull in early for the day, then they get out of their car and follow you to the door when you are unlocking it. Makes me SO mad. I still have things to do before I open the dang door for people. Ugh .

3. One item I need to have in my fridge at all time is Jalepeno Cilantro Hummus from Publix. It is UH-mazing .

4. My "life-saving" product is dry shampoo. It is my friend .

Meet Brooks

My brother's new chocolate lab puppy. Isn't he adorable? He brought him home last week, and he came over to meet my pups. They were so cute playing together. :)

There aren't many things in the world cuter than a six week old puppy right? So cute. He was so squishy, and cuddly, and I didn't want him to leave. Next time I see him he will be a lot bigger I'm sure!

2. Friends don't let friends walk around looking like idiots, whether it be something in your teeth, wearing something completely unflattering, or with a massive boogie (hehe) hanging out .

3. A sunny day is perfect for sitting on the back porch reading a book, or laying out by the pool .

4. My favorite accessory is my long heart locket necklace. I wear it all the time .

5. If I could afford it I would have a personal trainer/chef who could make me skinny. Haha .

6. The cure for boredom is __exercising. It's a good solution to that problem .

7. I am currently "in like" with __Greek yogurt. I just recently tried it and am actually "in love" with it .

1. Graduation.This past week, Ian's brother Brandon graduated college. I took half the day off at work to go eat with the family, since they drove down from different places, and the graduation was in the evening. Lunch was great, and after graduation we went back to Brandon & Joanna's apartment for homemade ice cream! Yum.

2. Cute pup pics.I was able to sneak some really cute pictures of the pups this past week too. They just melt me. Oh, and I have to give Ian credit for the middle picture. :)

3. Looks can be deceiving.Ian and I were craving something terrible for us this weekend, so we decided to try out a little scrambled dog place in town. We have driven by this place so many times...but never stopped. Needless to say, it was delicious, and the atmosphere was awesome.

4. Food, food, & more food.These are just a few of my delicious meals/desserts from this past week/weekend. The first one is my famous salad that I make pretty much every day for lunch. Romaine lettuce, green olives, sunflower seeds, craisins, strawberries, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of sugar. The middle picture is of one of the best pieces of chocolate cake I have ever had. It is called "Chocolate Lovin' Spoonfuls," and was given to us by our friends Brett & Kate (for Brett's birthday). Unbelievable. The third picture is of a meal I had at Olive Garden. I don't remember the name of it, but I will be ordering it again. :)

5. Bridesmaid!Yep! My friend Crystal asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding next year, and I am so excited! She dropped off the cutest little card to me at work, in which she made herself. She's so creative! The other pictures are of two cute little rottweiler puppies at work the other day, and some pretty flowers.

{one} what profession have you always admired?Teachers. They don't get paid a lot, but their job is one of the most important in my opinion. Teachers, you ROCK!
{two} what would the title of your memoir/biography be if it was written today?"Where do I Start?" Haha.
{three} how far do you commute to work?Literally, 2 minutes, if that. :)
{four} are your earlobes attached or detached?Attached.
{five} do you eat the unpopped kernels of popcorn at the bottom of the bag?Nooo.
{six} what is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?Hmm...two Christmases ago, my family played dirty santa, and the gift I ended up with was a massive container of Raisinets, and a jumbo pack of Tums. Yep.
{seven} what is one tv show that you wish hadn’t been cancelled?Flash Forward. I loved that show and don't know why they cancelled it!
{eight} what is something that you are saving money for right now?Nothing in particular.
{nine} what hobby would you like to take up?Sewing. I have a sewing machine but have NO idea how to use it!
