Don't forget to link up over at Lauren's!

1.  The very best thing about the summer is      being out in the sun and hanging out with friends and family   .

2.  My first crush ever was      when I was in the 8th grade. I don't want to mention any names...hehe .

3.  This may sound really silly but       I still jump up on my bed so the "monster" under the bed doesn't get me! I know I know...haha   .

4.  I squeeze my toothpaste from       wherever I feel like squeezing it at the time. Sometimes it's from the middle of the tube, sometimes it's from the end   .

5.  My absolute favorite "comfort food" is     ice cream or something sweet   .

6.  A random fact about me is that      I used to get made fun of in middle school for having a big nose. Here are a few of the nicknames I was called: Gonzo, hose nose, Nosy O'Donald...oh and there was this one kid, when I would turn and look his way, he would say, "OH MY EYE MY EYE!" How rude is that? I wanted a nose job for the longest time...then I decided that God made me this way...so I shouldn't be ashamed of it   !

7.  The one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and I couldn't live without is      my iPhone. I seriously don't know what I would do without it! In fact, I will never own another phone other than the iPhone. It's amazing    .

What I've Been Up to Lately...

I thought I'd take a few minutes to tell you guys what I've been up to lately!

First of all...in case some of you were wondering about the house building situation...here's the deal: Since they still haven't actually started building our house yet...there is no way we will be able to close by June 30th, which means...no first-time home buyer's tax credit for us. Yep. It stinks...really bad...oh well. But there is good news! The whole situation is such a blessing! We were able to incorporate a lot of upgrades into the house...so it's going to be really nice...and just like we want it. I'm really excited! I went by the lot yesterday...and this is what it looks like now:

Trees cleared...almost ready to start building! So that's exciting. Hopefully they will be ready to build in the next two-three weeks.

Moving on...

On my off day the past three weeks, I have been laying out by the pool trying to get some sun since I am super pasty. I have four words for you...
THE SUN HATES ME.
Yep. Either I get no sun at all...or I burn. Two weeks ago, my right arm got burnt. That's it. Just my right arm. What's up with that? Yesterday, I actually managed to get some sun...only burned a little, and it's surprisingly pretty even.
My friend Crystal and I yesterday:

She has such a great tan right now. (I won't reveal her secret) Haha. And look at me...all pasty. It's okay though...I'd rather radiate my pastiness than burn and peel. :)

My parents' house is the most gorgeous place for laying out by the pool. Palm trees...beautiful flowers...feels like paradise.

Have you guys ever seen/heard of a hummingbird bumble bee? They are quite possibly the cutest things ever. They look like miniature hummingbirds. This one (I'm so sad to say) was dead:

These on the other hand...were alive, and it looked like they were trying to get drunk off the pollen in these flowers! So funny...

After taking these pictures...Ian came over to get some sun too...and we decided that since Lilly has never been in the pool, we would see how she liked it.
She hated it.
And I think she hates us now for being the evil people who put her in the water.
Oh well...I got some adorable pictures out of it!

So that's pretty much what I've been up to in the last couple of weeks! Oh...except for this...It's what we do when we get bored at work:

We lock ourselves in kennels and then see if we can get out. Haha. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week!

Want to learn how to do scalloped photo borders like mine? Go here! Thanks Katrina!

Andigraf App!

I am always finding new camera applications for my iPhone...and I found the most awesomest (hehe) multi-shot app the other day! It's called Andigraf...and it's so cool! Here are a few shots I have taken so far...
Ian and I last night before going on a date to Olive Garden. :)

My lunch today. Hehe.

My awesome new Holga!

My friend Crystal and I out by the pool yesterday. I got burnt by the way. :(

Can you tell I love starbucks? I posted this picture to Facebook the other day with this caption:
"I like to believe the calories in the caramel drizzle don't count." :)

I hope you all are having a great Thursday!

Look What I Got!

Okay so I know I'm way behind on the times...but I have recently had this new obsession with toy cameras. Some of our dear friends Wes and Neely (awesome photographers) asked Ian to ask me if I wanted their Holga. It's obvious that I said yes! I'm so excited.

Being so used to digital cameras...it's going to be so hard for me to take pictures and not see what they look like immediately...but that's the fun in it right?! I look forward to sharing my Holga prints with you when I have them printed! :)

Mother's Day 2010

Today was great! After church, Ian and I went over to my parents' house and rode with them to Cheddar's to eat. Might I say that it was very yummy! When we got home, I decided to whip out the ole' camera and take some family pictures since we haven't done that in awhile.
First of all, let me just start by saying Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! My mom is the most amazing woman I know. We have become closer as I've gotten older, and I love it. She has the sweetest and purest heart! My grandmothers are amazing also. Here are a few family shots we took! Enjoy!

(my sweet parents...aren't they cute?!)

(I love him!)

I hope all of you had an amazing weekend!

Six Senses Sunday

Right now I'm...

Tasting:
The aftertaste of yummy Cheddar's for Mother's Day lunch!

Smelling:
A yummy cream cheese bars dessert my mom made! Doesn't it look scrumptious?

Seeing:
All the pictures I am editing that I just took of the family!

Hearing:
My mom and my grandmother nag me about how awful they look in all the pictures I took of them.

Touching:
Nothing right now other than the keyboard...and my pup!

Feeling:
Blessed and thankful to have the sweetest, best mom in the whole wide world!
I love you Mama!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Today's Fill in the Blank Friday is all about books!
Don't forget to link up over at Lauren's!

1.  My favorite book growing up was     "I Love You This Much". It's really the only book that I remember reading as a kid   .

2.  The funniest book I've ever read was     "Skinny Bitch." It is hilarious! If you haven't read it, you need to. I couldn't get through a page without laughing .

3.  The one book that has truly changed my life is      the Bible. I don't read it near as much as I need to, but it has definitely changed my life for the better   .

4.  If you're looking for a real "tear jerker" you should probably read     "The Last Song." It's such a good book, yet so sad at the end    .

5.  If I could meet any author living or dead I would want to meet    Stephanie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Saga. Yes, I am one of those Twilight obsessed people...haha   .

6.  The next book on my "to read" list is      "Eclipse," from the Twilight Saga for the 2nd time. I want to read it again before the movie comes out in June .

7.  If I was snowed into  remote cabin in the woods and could only choose three books to bring with me I'd bring      ...oh dear. I couldn't choose just three! Being so indecisive, I just couldn't do it    .

I guess this is the perfect time to mention that I just finished the book I was currently reading, "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult. It was a great book! Sad story...but good! I would definitely suggest reading it. I am about to start reading another one of her books soon called "The Tenth Circle," so hopefully it will be just as good!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
