Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   New Year's is (awesome/lame/other)   _bittersweet. One year coming to an end, and a new year right around the corner   .

2.  Last New Year's Eve I   _can't even remember what we did. We usually don't do much  .

3.  My New Year's resolution is  __to eat better, exercise more, and lose weight because of it. Haha. Cliche I know  .

4.  The best way to spend New Year's Eve is  __with friends of course   .

5.  My prediction for an up-and-coming trend in 2011 is       oh gosh I don't know! Haha  .

6.  This New Year's Eve I will   __be traveling to the wonderful Nashville, TN and hanging out with some of the coolest people I know  .

7.  A fresh start is  __always refreshing. Even though you shouldn't have to wait until the start of a new year to change something or do something new...there is something about the beginning of a new year to give you the motivation to succeed  !

I hope all of you have a most wonderful New Year!

My friend takes amazing pictures!

A few weeks ago, my friend Kate took some awesome pictures of Ian and I...and I can't get over just how amazing they are! As an amateur photographer (hehe) I really look up to Kate, because she is just...well, amazing. No, seriously. I her, and have learned so much from her!

Here is one of my favorite images from the shoot...

White Christmas!

As most of you in the south probably already know, something awesome happened this past weekend. We had a white Christmas! Christmas day afternoon, we drove to Atlanta to see Ian's family...and hit snow! Later that night, I heard from my mom and she said it was snowing at home too! Here are a few pictures we took of the snow. :)

On Christmas Eve, my mom gave me the task of making some mini cinnamon rolls to have with our "breakfast for dinner" meal that night. They are the easiest things to make I tell ya! And you know I had to take pictures every step of the way. :)

What You Will Need:

1 roll of Pillsbury crescent rolls
Cinnamon
Sugar
Butter
Pecans (optional)

1. Unroll your crescent rolls and put two triangles together to make one rectangle. Make sure to mush them together so they don't come apart.

2. Melt butter, and spread onto the dough with a brush or spoon, or whatever your little heart desires!

3. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar evenly over the buttered dough. Don't be stingy! :)

Add nuts if you'd like...

4. Carefully roll the dough.

5. Cut the roll into five pieces...and place into pan for baking.

6. Bake at 350 degrees until they look ready. Haha. You know...until golden brown. :)

7. The Icing - Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 3 teaspoons of milk, and a drop or two of vanilla extract, and drizzle over the cinnamon rolls! Soooo gooood. :)

Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of the cinnamon rolls after they were baked...but trust me, they were amazing! :)

Merry Christmas Eve! (and pics from my new camera!)

Can you believe it's Christmas already?! It's so crazy how fast time has gone by this year. I am so excited about spending time with family...the dirty santa game we are playing tonight...and taking a million pictures using the new lens I received in the mail Wednesday!

I have a Nikon D5000 DSLR camera (yeah yeah...the one in all the Ashton Kutcher commercials), and until Wednesday have just been using the 18-55 f/3.5 kit lens that came with my camera. So what lens did I order you might ask? A 50mm f/1.4! So excited. Here are just a few of the pictures I have taken so far with the amazing 50mm...

Lilly having some playtime with her ball... (which she can barely fit in her mouth, hehe)

Stuffed dogs that sing Christmas songs at work...

Mistletoe anyone? :)

Sweet Lilly again...

Handsome Rocky...

Lilly giving her daddy kisses in front of the Christmas tree...

Lilly after her bath today at work...

An adorable pomeranian puppy...

Simon wearing the cone of shame...haha.

And like I said...these are only a few! I've taken my camera everywhere...which would just be to work, haha!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day of course!
