House Building = STRESS

Since I was off work today, and it's Ian's Spring Break (he's a 5th grade school teacher), my mom decided to take off work and come with us to get some house shenanigans done. Can I just say one thing real quick?

I WANTED TO PULL MY HAIR OUT TODAY!
(like seriously...oh and I think Ian did too)

First of all, we finally decided on our paint colors the other day. Looking at the paint fan was so overwhelming.
At first, we thought we wanted a neutral color in the living room, but then I decided that I wanted it to be a color, because I'm tired of neutral! Haha. So after much thought, we decided that the living room will be a color called Drizzle from Sherwin Williams. It's a muted shade of turquoise/teal/robin's egg blue or whatever you wanna call it. Haha.

The colors may vary on the computer screen, but oh well.

Then, we went to Bed Bath & Beyond and bought the adorable bedroom set that I blogged about a few weeks ago! This made my day. :)

We decided to paint the bedroom a color called Robust Orange from Sherwin Williams to match the bedspread.
All of the other rooms in the house will be a neutral color called Utterly Beige by Sherwin Williams.
Here is the tile we will be using:
And here is our carpet for the bedrooms (it's the 2nd one on the 1st row called Creamy Oatmeal):
Today, we picked out cabinets, cabinet hardware, brick, countertops, tile, carpet, lighting fixtures, appliances, bathroom/kitchen faucet fixtures, blah blah blah. Talk about a DAY. Ugh. I'm just glad it's over. We still have to decide on a few other small things, but for the most part, I feel really good about what we've done so far.

I never thought building a house would be this complicated and stressful! Haha. Hopefully they will break ground in the next couple of weeks.

I can't wait for the process to start so I can update everyone on the building part! Stay tuned for more to come! :)

I SO feel your & Ian’s pain about building the house … when we build our house I was the only one at home & had to make all the decisions … it took us about 11 months to build the house because I drew the plans & decided I could be my own contractor … so not a good idea

It's crazy! You would think it would be a fun process...which some of it is...but it's completely overwhelming! Congrats for your's being built! :)
